The new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) are coming into force in the UK in May 2018 and it is important that you understand your legal obligations as a library. This session, developed in association with Naomi Korn Copyright Consultancy (NKCC) has been specifically designed for Axiell users and will explore the relationship between Axiell systems and your broader organisational requirements under GDPR. Specifically it will explore:

  • What is data protection, what is its scope and what will the impact of GDPR have on your organisation?
  • What type of personal data are you likely to encounter as part of your interaction with cultural content and on what grounds can you legally process it?
  • What is the role of Axiell's systems in helping you comply with GDPR within your broader responsibilities?
  • How can you use Axiell systems to store, rectify and delete personal data?
  • How can Axiell systems be used to record consent?
  • How can Axiell systems be used to provide added security to the safety of personal data you are holding?

All you need to know

This practical workshop will use interactive sessions and group work to engage participants and enable questions and discussions.
